...in the shop now...whimsy pre-cuts by joanna figueroa

Whimsy pre-cuts are now available in the shop!  Jelly Rolls, Charm Packs and Honey Buns are all listed and ready to go to a good home.  If you haven't seen this line yet, you're missing out.  Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree & Co. has designed another fabulous line for Moda.  Technically a children's line, you will find a couple of "younger" prints in the collection, but mostly you'll find classic Fig Tree prints in muted colors - dainty flowers, happy little dots and cute stripes.  A perfect line for those have children or who are young at heart and don't mind a print or two with retro children designs.  I see this line and immediately think spring, so grab some pre-cuts and start planning that picnic blanket project!

...in the shop now...wheels by riley blake designs

We're very excited to be carrying Wheels because it's the first "boy" fabric line we've carried!  Riley Blake is proving to consistently offer fun, quality lines and Wheels is living up to the standard.  This line offers lots of bright primary colors with fun designs - cars, vans, bikes, traffic signs, trees, roads.  Does your little boy love to play with cars and trucks?  Then this fabric is perfect!

We hope you love it as much as we do!  Head over to the shop and check it out!

See you in the shop!

P.S. You may have noticed that we've changed up the blog a bit.  We're still in the process of tweaking it to give it a cleaner look, so bear with us!

...stash builder super sale & fun fabric friday!

Happy Friday everyone!  This week's Stash Builder Super Sale print is Scattered Lantern Pods from Laura Gunn's Lantern Bloom collection.  It's also doubling as this Friday's Fun Fabric!  (Yes, I know...I'm very sporadic with Fun Fabric Friday - something I'm trying to remedy this new year!)  The Lantern Bloom collection is fun to me because each print is a real painting turned into fabric.  How cool is that?!

But I think the Scattered Pods print is especially fun because, well...it's pods! Their shape and design is so interesting and you could do so many fun things with this print. You could make pillow covers (I know, I always suggest that, but this is a great scale for throw pillows and a nice way to add a pop of orangey-red color to a room!) It's also a great print to "cover" just about anything...desk organizer trays, magazine holders, pencil cups, any organizer box or bin...it just has that kind of scale where it certainly catches your eye from across a room, but it's not overpowering.

(Pods sizes vary, but average approximately 1" x 2")

Well, that's my take on this print...do you have any other ideas to add?  I'd love to see the comment box fill up with some of your great ideas!  But don't forget to head over to the shop to grab up this great little cut while it's on super sale - $1.50 Fat Quarter!

See you in the shop!

...a little dose of color...

I spent the evening catching up on all the blogs I subscribe to (there were hundreds in my Reader!) and the most common theme in blog after blog was COLOR!  There are so many wonderful blogs by designers and amateurs alike that are filled with colorful layouts and gorgeous pictures of quilts, crafts and, of course, fabric.  It was certainly inspiring to explore all these blogs and it has made me even more motivated to make the changes to my blog that I've been wanting to do for a while.  But that's a job for Hubby and with his "day" job, his own business, his grad school and our house remodel, I'm not sure how quickly those changes will be made.  So for a quick dose of color, I snapped a couple photos from around my house tonight.  Keep in mind it was 10:30 when I took them, so the lighting wasn't the greatest. :)

Drips created by entryway edging in preparation for new front door molding.

I love the shapes created by the lights.

Freshly installed baseboard...you have no idea how exciting this is for us.
We haven't had baseboard in an embarrassingly long time.

My $10 find at Marshall's...another Christmas present to me from Hubby...that I bought.

It's content hanging out on the mantle for now.  I love how it pops next to the black.

If you didn't notice, my favorite colors are turquoise and lime. They were my wedding colors (trust me, they worked - we got married on the beach!), they're all over my house (walls, decor, etc.) and I own more aqua shirts than anyone should! What are your favorite colors? And what do you do when you need a dose of color? I hope you'll share...I'd love to hear what colors make you happy!

happy new year!

I know this is a little late, but Happy New Year!  I've been fairly absent from the blog lately, but that's not for lack of having stuff to share.  We're working on a lot of new, exciting things for the shop and I can't wait to share them with you all!  But those will have to wait for a bit.

For now, I want to share with you a fun contest that Kim at True Up has put together featuring your favorite fabric collections of 2009.  She has compiled a list of 20 categories and all you have to do is choose 10 and blog about your picks.  And to make it worth your while, a number of True Up sponsors (including So Fun Fabrics!) are offering $25 gift certificates to their stores.  One winner per day until January 15, so the sooner you enter, the better your chance for winning.  For details, head on over to True Up!

If you enter, feel free to leave your blog link in the comment section here.  I'd love to check out your lists!  Good luck!
